Yes! The StormLight will illuminate brighter, outward-facing LED lights when there is no power to the outlet. Note that this requires a true power outage to the house or building; turning off an individual circuit breaker to the outlet will not necessarily trigger the battery backup illumination.

The StormLight is available in 3 styles, which are compatible with either 120V AC Duplex, Decor, or GFCI outlets. They will work with the vast majority of outlet brands and styles, so long as they have the typical side screw terminals.

No, StormLights can only be used on Duplex, Decor or GFCI outlets with side screw terminals. Even though a rocker-style light switch may be the same size and shape as a Decor or GFCI outlet, the tabs on the back of the StormLight are not compatible with light switch receptacles, so the product will not function properly.

The StormLight is simple to install in place of your existing outlet cover plates, and produces attractive pathway lighting automatically from dusk-to-dawn. It also contains a rechargeable internal battery backup to illuminate emergency lighting in the event of a power outage. The StormLight will automatically draw power from the outlet to charge/recharge the battery when there is power.

It typically takes about 2 hours for a full charge. If the StormLight is properly installed, it will recharge the internal battery whenever there is power to the outlet.

No, StormLight is designed for easy installation. Simply unscrew and remove your existing outlet cover plate, then snap on the StormLight and replace the screw. Please be sure to turn off power before installing the StormLight, for your safety.

StormLight is not rated for outdoor use.
